I had the pleasure of being invited to Hokushin Judo to do a seminar earlier this year. Not only were Sensei Mario and his team incredible hosts, but everyone who attended the seminar had incredible passion for Judo. I’ve taught Judo all over the world, and very rarely have I been in a room with the same energy as Hokushin.

Sensei Mario has created great culture amongst all of his students. Whether you’re a beginner who wants to learn for the first time or someone who has been training for years, Hokushin will be a great choice.

Mario Camacho is the Holy Trinity of Judo Sensei's! Not only is he an excellent instructor in regard to teaching and learning Judo skills/techniques, but he’s a legitimate competitive coach as his track record shows. Coaching his daughter JC to several National titles and podium finishes including a Cadet and Junior World Team.

Most importantly, Mario personifies the term Sensei. He goes beyond the coach/instructor role as he supports character development in addition to encouraging focus on academics, career, family and faith. Mario, his family and his supporting cast of Sensei's are what make Hokushin Judo the type of place I want to learn and train Judo!

Sensei Mario has been a big part of our family for years now. He has helped our kids develop in judo, make new friends, and get stronger and more disciplined. He has always been caring and involved with each of them. As a coach, he's a great person to have in their corner. He has coached them through fears and doubts, and shown them what they are capable of. Personally, I love watching practices because Sensei does such a great job of talking kids through the nuances of techniques, and it is fun to watch their growth as it happens.

I’ve had the privilege of training at Hokushin Judo under Sensei Mario since my freshman year. As a student with a leadership role in my university’s judo club, which currently does not have an instructor, Sensei Mario has been an incredible mentor and source of support. His dedication extends beyond his own students, as he consistently demonstrates a genuine passion for helping anyone eager to learn. He frequently reaches out with opportunities to help us improve our judo and has generously supported our club through promotions, program development, and invitations to training sessions.

Sensei Mario has a remarkable ability to recognize potential and passion in students, and he is always willing to support them both on and off the mat. Hokushin is a place that curates passion to potential, and potential to success.
